The investiture is a simple ceremony at which the Beavers say their Promise, receive their badges, and are welcomed into the Beaver Scout Colony.
Also of particular importance with regards to subscriptions; the 21st Medway Scout Group is registered with H M Revenue & Customs (Charities) to allow us to claim back the tax deducted on money we receive in respect of subscriptions from parents who are UK taxpayers.
Our Scout Group is entirely self-funding. Our Leaders and Executive Committee are not paid for their time. Our main source of income is from subscriptions paid by members. This is supported by the fund raising events we organise, and occasional grants and awards that we receive for specific purposes.
As a uniformed organisation members of our Scout Group are required to wear the correct uniform when taking part in activities.
For Beavers the minimum unifrorm requirement for investiture is a Group neckerchief with woggle, and a Beaver sweatshirt, worn with grey school trousers. At the earliest opportunity, Beavers should also aim to purchase a pair of activity trousers.
