The Rain Couldn’t Dampen Our Spirits

This year’s Summer Camp at Gilwell Park was the Groups busiest yet, we had over 40 campers throughout the week. We arrived on the Sunday during a torrential downpour that eventually eased, pitching tents avoiding puddles was interesting but we got everything up in good time. The whole week was a mixture of heavy downpours and sunshine, and despite the rains best efforts campers spirits remained high and everybody came home with a smile on their face. Some of this years highlights include: Dual presentation of the Scouts ‘Best All Rounder Camper’ trophy, after much deliberation the Scout Leaders decided that two of the Scouts Jack & Noah would have to share. The equivalent Cub trophy was won by Hannah. We also we’re able to hand out our first ‘Time on Water’ badges newly introduced by the Scout Association.

With Group numbers growing so fast we hope to see even more happy campers next summer.
